■The Canterbury Farmers Market will be open Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Elkins Public Library. The market will be held every Wednesday (unless there are thunderstorms) until Sept. 30. There will be the usual lineup of local produce, farm-to-fork produce, pasture-raised meats, eggs, dairy, maple products, baked goods, artisan breads and local crafts. There will not be theme activities this year, but there will be live music from local musicians, this week performed by Canterbury’s own Dudley Laufman, playing old time New England fiddle and melodeon tunes. To address COVID-19 safety issues, the market will have a curbside pickup. Customers will be encouraged to use hand sanitizer before entering the market, numbers of customers coming in at any one time will be monitored to avoid crowding, prepared food must be taken off site to eat, customers are asked to send minimal family members and children must be kept with parents/guardians at all times. No pets are allowed this year and all volunteers will wear masks. Market tokens will still be sold and sanitized beforehand. See canterburyfarmersmarket.com for more details.

■If you don’t already know, Webster’s Town Administrator, Leslie Palmer, will leave her job at the end of June. It will take someone unique to fill the big shoes that Leslie leaves behind. Have you been to a town meeting? If you have, then you know the facts and figures that Leslie has at her fingertips. She was also one of the prime developers of our latest 10-year plan. Then there is the spectacular job she has done with our Town Report, making it easier to read and including more information. She not only works hard on behalf of the town, but she is a friendly, kind and caring person who is always ready to help any townsperson who comes into the building. Leslie will be missed by all of us.
