The need for paid leave has never been so clear. With the ongoing economic and public health crises, New Hampshire families can’t wait any longer. We need Gov. Chris Sununu to sign the bill that was passed with bipartisan support.
We need paid sick leave and universal health care. The COVID-19 pandemic makes it clear that our current system of health care is not working. With millions unemployed, they do not have health care coverage. Without paid leave, sick people will be forced to work and spread the virus.
Although up to now New Hampshire has done well to control the spread, reopening the economy means more people are exposed to the virus.
It is clear that our system of health care is not working, as we have the highest rate of infections in the entire world.
