When so many small businesses are struggling to make it through pandemic, New Hampshire Distributors decided to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central N.H. and local restaurants by hosting a virtual Taste of New Hampshire.
Typically, the Taste of N.H. is held in October. Restaurants and vendors promote their menus by donating and serving samples of their food, beer and wine. Sponsors cover event space costs and ticket sales benefit the Boys & Girls Club. This event has raised over $400,000 over the past 14 years.
With restaurants struggling this year, the event planners decided to give back. NHD offered to purchase restaurant gift certificates to sell online at a discount during the virtual event, which took place June 15 to 19.
The goal for the event was $20,000 for restaurants. Because of our generous community, over $100,000 was raised for local restaurants! In addition, a silent auction and sponsorships raised $45,000 for the Boys & Girls Club.
In my lifetime, I have never experienced a nonprofit turn the tables and support other businesses at a time when all are in need. We are so grateful for everyone who participated! Special appreciation is due to Chris Brown and New Hampshire Distributors.
