Maisie Emerson, 10, of Contoocook has earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award for her project: I Protect You, You Protect Me, Sewing Masks For All. She has been recognized as a Silver Award Girl Scout for her effort to improve her community.
Since Maisie already enjoyed sewing, she researched how to make face masks, taught family and friends how to make and wear them, and donated 56 masks to a local hospital.
For the Bronze Award, Juniors (girls who are in grades 4 and 5) take action with others to improve their communities, gain important leadership skills and learn that even seemingly small actions can make a big impact. It is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior may earn.
