Rep. Debbie Dingell was recently interviewed and said that Sen. Kamala Harris will be instrumental in bringing manufacturing jobs back to America. Nothing can be further from the truth.
Rep. Dingell’s district is in the heart of auto manufacturing. Sen. Harris was one of 10 senators who voted against the USMCA trade treaty that made wages of Mexican auto workers on a par with American auto workers’ wages. Why would she vote against the USMCA if she will be instrumental in bringing jobs back to America?
The answer is that she put opposing the American job creation policies of President Trump above caring for working people. She also opposed bringing fairness to our dairy farmers who were treated so unfairly by Canadian tariffs of NAFTA of the Clinton administration.
These actions combined with the lack of vision by the Obama-Biden administration, when President Obama declared that manufacturing jobs were not ever coming back to America, is clear that Biden has no vision for bringing jobs back to America. President Trump had the faith that his policies would bring good paying jobs back to America. That is why in just three years in office, President Trump’s policies achieved the lowest unemployment for people of color in the last 50 years.
Actions speak louder than words and American workers know that point. Like in the Obama-Biden administration, a Biden-Harris administration would be more talk about helping working people than they will actually help workers.
