■Beautiful red, white and pink poinsettias can be ordered through the Bow Garden Club’s 12th annual Poinsettia Pre-Sale until this Wednesday. You can order either 8-inch pots (contain three stems of poinsettias) and 10-inch pots (contain four stems of poinsettias). Pick up orders at Bow Community Center, 3 Bow Center Road, on Dec. 5. Customers will drive into the parking lot to pick up their poinsettias. Pre-ordered poinsettias will be brought out to your car by Garden Club members who will be masked and gloved. These big and beautiful poinsettias are priced at $24 for the 8-inch and $34 for the 10-inch. All proceeds benefit the Garden Club’s on-going civic beautification efforts. Poinsettias can be pre-ordered through any Bow Garden Club member, via order forms posted in the entryways of both the Baker Free Library and the Bow Rec Dept. or by contacting Joyce Kimball at 229-1990 or joyceakimball@comcast.net. All orders must be received by Wednesday.

■The Garden Club is now  accepting donations of new pajamas and books through its annual Pajama Project which will run through mid-November. The pajamas and books collected this year will be distributed to Family Promise of Greater Concord and Friends, families receiving assistance through Bow Human Services and Friends of Forgotten Children in Penacook, which also serves the greater Concord area. Collection boxes are now in place in the entryways of the Baker Free Library and the Bow Parks & Rec Dept. Donations can also be given to any Bow Garden Club member. ■The Bow Mills United Methodist Church will not be hosting its Annual Snowman Craft Fair that was slated for Saturday, nor its Murder Mystery Play scheduled for Nov. 19.

■Voting hours on Tuesday are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community Center (Elementary School) on Robert Rogers Road. Wear a mask and maintain social distancing. Don’t forget your license.

■There is no school on Tuesday, but there will be parent/teacher conferences. 

■Read to Dogs Virtually through the library on Thursday. Kids in grades 1-4 who register will have a 15-minute virtual session with a dog. Sessions are from 3-4 p.m. with Mr. T the dog and his handler Nancy.

■On Thursday the DCC Book Club will meet on Zoom to discuss “Holy Envy” by Barbara Brown Taylor from 7-8 p.m.s

■The Concord Visiting Nurse Association is offering flu shots to people ages 3 and over at the Vestry (across from Town Hall) on Nov. 10 from 9-11 a.m. Immunizations are free with an ID card from Medicare B, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Harvard Pilgrim, Tufts, or Anthem, and $30 for all others. Cash or checks are accepted. This year the VNA is offering the standard quadrivalent influenza vaccine. Masks must be worn and you must make an appointment at crvna.org/fluclinics. ■The Dunbarton Police Dept. is happy to announce that Sergeant Chris Remillard has completed the five-day Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD) instructor training and will be teaching the LEAD program to Dunbarton Elementary School students in the near future. The LEAD program replaces the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program that was previously taught at DES. ■SAU 24 superintendent Jacqueline Coe announced the appointment of Jacquelyn Cornwell as interim assistant principal at Center Woods Elementary School and Jacob Morrill as interim dean of student learning at Weare Middle and Center Woods Upper Elementary schools.

■The Contoocook Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon behind the depot in Contoocook. Please wear a mask.

■Polls are open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Hopkinton Middle High School. Masks will be required for poll workers and voters. An alternative process will be available to voters who cannot or will not wear a mask. There will be a secure ballot box outdoors for absentee ballot delivery. ■The Hopkinton High School Interact Club is hosting two large flocks of flamingos for your enjoyment. ■As the days get cooler, the Hopkinton Town Library will continue to offer Family Story Times outside. Bundle up, grab a blanket to sit on and join the fun! Interactive stories and songs will keep you and your child moving, engaged and warm! Family Story Time is held on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. (rain dates are Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.) until the snow flies. Story Times are geared for ages 4 and under. Siblings are welcome to attend.
