The Concord Lions Club “Litter Crew” recently completed the fall cleanup of one mile of Clinton Street and the Exit 2 Park-n-Ride area. They collected 43 bags of trash.
The team this year included President Carl Nolin, Norm Roberge, Tom Geno, Bob Addario, Dik Dagaverian, Diana Young, Paul Young, Laura Harwood and Brian Cross.
A big thank you to Jayne, who was driving by and soon returned with bagels for all, as a thank you to us for caring and helping keep Concord’s roads trash free.
The Lions plan to return in spring for another clean sweep of the area.
They are now beginning to schedule sessions for Operation KidSight in local schools. The Lions are scheduling eye screenings as soon as the schools set the protocols for these screenings. The pandemic made starting slow, but they will endeavor to reach all the schools in the Greater Concord area again this year. They have screened the eyes of more than 15,000 students in the last four years.
The Concord Lions Club meets on the first Wednesday of the month at Alan’s Restaurant in Boscawen at 6 p.m. They are always looking for some good new members.
