■The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Free Community Thanksgiving Meal with all the fixings on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall. CHICHESTERTown seeks bids

■The Town of Chichester Cemetery Board of Trustees is accepting bids for the maintenance and care of the town’s cemeteries for 2021. Bid specifications are available at the Selectmen’s office. Sealed bids must be submitted before Nov. 30 in the Selectmen’s Office, Attn: Cemetery Trustees, 54 Main Street, Chichester, NH 03258. Bidders may contact cemetery trustees regarding any questions about the position. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. Bid award may not be solely based upon price, but shall be chosen in a manner found to be in the best interest of the town.

■The Chichester Town Library bookstore will be open on Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. Please enter from the back. There is a wonderful, special cart with books for holiday giving. Book donations will be accepted during this time. Masks and social distancing rules will be in place.

■The Chichester Historical Society will meet on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the museum. Visitors are welcome.

■Town Offices are closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. The B.C.E.P Transfer Station is closed on Thursday and Friday. The Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop is closed on Thursday.

■The library bookstore will be open Nov. 30 from 9-11 a.m., another opportunity to purchase great books for gift giving. Check out the vintage section and New England authors for a special book. There are many wonderful children’s Christmas books for sale.

■The Town Clerk’s Office has new guidelines for doing motor vehicle transactions. Renewals can be done by mail, dropbox or online at chichesternh.org.org). Please call the office at 798-5350 on Monday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and Tuesday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (except Thanksgiving) if you have any questions. The new guidelines will be in effect until the end of the year.

■There is no school Wednesday-Friday this week.

■School pictures will be taken on Dec. 2. Similar to the recent flu shot clinic, these will also take place in the gym with social distancing. Instead of class photos, class pictures will be compiled electronically. A schedule will be set with times for remote families to also participate while remaining socially distant.

■The Epsom Public Library is open for curbside pick up only. Call 736-9920 if you are interested in certain books or movies. Library hours are Monday-Thursday from 1-6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Patrons of the Epsom Public Library may access and download audio books, magazines and ebooks from the New Hampshire State Library at nh.lib.overdrive.com or using the Libby app. This is a free service. In order to check out materials, you will need to select the Epsom Public Library from the drop down menu and enter the library code of 4555, followed by your library card number. If you have questions or do not know your library card number, please contact the library.

■The Epsom Police Association’s 3rd Annual Toy and Clothing Drive will take place on Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. New toys and new winter clothing for boys and girls of all ages will be collected. Those who donate will earn free entry into several raffles of gift cards. Donations will be accepted at the Epsom Police Department up to Dec. 11. Visitors should wear a mask and practice social distancing. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available.

■The Victory Workers 4-H Club will hold a Thanksgiving Pie/Bake Sale on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or until the baked goods are gone!) at Mike’s Meat Shoppe at the corner of Route 28 and Upper City Road. A variety of pies and quickbreads will be available.

■Sign-ups for Secret Santa for Christmas 2020 have begun. This program provides Christmas assistance for residents of Pittsfield in need. Children must be 14 years of age or under, must be residents of Pittsfield and the parent or guardian that signs them up must have custody of the child. Donations will be accepted until Nov. 30. Call 435-6807 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to apply. Program provides toys and winter clothing, and is fully funded by donations from local individuals and businesses. If you would like to assist, donations of new, unwrapped toys or clothing can be dropped off at the fire station at your convenience. Contact Kris at the fire station to coordinate a drop-off time. ■The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce sponsored Children’s Store has been cancelled this year.

■If you are a 501(c)(3), have you heard about the Globe Community Fund? Established by the former fourth-generation family owners of Globe Manufacturing Company in Pittsfield, the donor-advised fund is administered by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The fund’s purpose is to enhance community wellbeing with a focus on the towns of Pittsfield, Barnstead, Epsom, Northwood, Gilmanton and Chichester. ■The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a House Decorating and Lighting Contest. Get in the holiday spirit and pull out those house decorations and lights. Help us “Light Up Pittsfield.” Any residence in Pittsfield is invited to participate. There is no entry fee and there is one prize of $100! ■The First Congregational Church of Pittsfield’s Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry has seen an increase in numbers since reopening in June. Your help is needed to assist many young struggling families. Size 3, 4, 5 and 6 diapers, along with wipes, pull-ups and overnights are needed. To arrange for drop off, call the church at 435-7471. ■The Pittsfield Historical Society continues to raise funds for a new museum and headquarters. A commemorative garden on the museum grounds is being worked on. A “buy-a-brick” project affords an opportunity for people to buy a brick to honor yourself, loved ones, or whomever you wish to remember. The bricks will be sold for $100 each and may be engraved with three lines of 18 characters each for a 4-inch by 8-inch brick. Visit pittsfieldhistory.com for a donation form and instructions. ■The town of Pittsfield’s winter parking ban on town roads is effective through April 15. This ban prohibits parking in or on the town’s roads or right of way between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
