BOWTree, wreath sale

■The annual Bow Rotary Christmas Tree and Wreath sale has begun and will be held at the Town Pond beside the Bow Community Building, 3 Bow Center Road. The sale will likely end this week. Trees usually sell out in 10 days or so and the sale started on Nov. 28. All 200 trees are from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and are 6-feet to 8-feet high, well-shaped fraser and balsam fir trees, which are known for their long-lasting qualities. There may also be a few taller and shorter trees to choose from. The wreaths are pre-decorated and made with balsam fir. For more information, go to bowrotary.org Hours of the sale are Monday-Friday from 4-7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. All trees are $45. Pre-decorated wreaths are only $30.

■In lieu of the Bow Rotary Club’s Scholarship Auction, the club is holding a cash raffle in hopes of raising enough money to fund at least a few the scholarships usually awarded. The raffle has three cash prizes: $1,250 for first prize, $500 for second and $250 for third. Tickets are one for $5 or 5 for $20 and are available for purchase at Merrimack County Savings Bank (Bow branch), through any Bow Rotary member and at bowrotary.org. The winners will be drawn on Dec. 18 and notified via email. For more information, contact Bob Couch at a.bobcouch@gmail.com, 340-5991 (cell) or 856-0427 (home).
