■Tax preparation, which was formerly done at the TRIP Center and Franklin Parks & Recreation Department, is now being done remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions. It is still free for individuals/couples with an annual income of less than $56,844. Go to nhtaxhelp.org or call 211 to make arrangements to connect with this free service.

■Franklin Winter Carnival 2021 will continue this weekend with an afternoon of skating and a hot cocoa party at the pond at Veterans Memorial Recreational Ski Area, 266 Flaghole Road on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m., enjoy ski and snowboard races on the slopes. ■Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry is in need of plastic bags and egg cartons. “Feed the Need!” provides supplemental weekend food bags to children in the Franklin schools. Call the Food Pantry, located at 2 Central St. (across from Benson Auto), if you would like to donate. Contact the pantry at 934-2662 or info.trifp@gmail.com to arrange for drop off. Monetary donations are always welcome.

■Karma Korner welcomes donations year-round for the in-school store at Franklin High. Items needed are lightly used clothing/outerwear/boots, toiletries (deodorant, shampoo, etc.), new underwear/socks for males and females (sport bras SML are best), laundry pods (unscented) for the in-school laundry (machines donated by Sears Roebuck). Items can be dropped off at the high school main office during regular hours.

■The Franklin Public Library is open for appointments, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Computers are available and curbside service is provided upon request. A virtual story time is presented weekly. Please call 934-2911 for details or to schedule an appointment.

■At this time, Service Link can offer phone appointments to answer questions regarding your Medicare or prescription drug coverage, along with caregiver and long-term care needs. Call 228-6625. New to Medicare Workshops are also available online. Call for dates and times and to set an appointment. The workshops are conducted via Zoom.

■The Recreation Center has several programs for children and youths. Visit the Parks & Rec webpage at franklinnh.org for a full listing of what is available or call 934-2118.
