The Learning Institute of New England College (LINEC) has a lineup of online Spring classes tailored to appeal to you — and you — and even you! We have been offering courses for seniors for over 30 years now; and this Spring promises a variety of topics to engage your mind, your heart and your imagination.
Don’t be deterred if you are unfamiliar with Zoom; we can help you join up and enter in if needed.
Thought-provoking and enjoyable are two common responses to our classes. Other comments from class members include fun, interesting and inspiring. The challenge of the pandemic led one mostly homebound member to refer to the online winter term as “a life saver — a breath of fresh air and community.”
Spring Term classes include 20th Century Women Poets; The World’s Greatest Geological Wonders; Biophilia: Life on Earth in All its Weird and Wonderful Diversity; Words from the Nursing Sisters, 1914 to 1918 in the Great War; Charles Dickens: a Product of His Time and Place; The History of the Supreme Court; The Art of Mindy Weisel: the Survival of Beauty; and a seven-week Film Series focusing on Orson Welles as an actor and director.
Classes begin on April 5 and run through May 14. All courses are live in the Zoom format. For more complete course and presenter descriptions as well as registration information, visit the LINEC website at linec.org; email linecregister@gmail.com or call 978-743-9071.
(Alice Nye is a member of the LINEC Curriculum Committee and has never been disappointed by any of the dozens of classes she has taken since she retired ten years ago.)
