■The Knights of Columbus will have a Take Out Supper on Saturday from 4:30-6 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Parish Hall. The menu will be BBQ pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and corn. Free will offerings are graciously accepted.
■The presentation of the Missing Man Chair by the Rolling Thunder NH1 on May 3 was the first of three events held to honor veterans. The Flags for Forgotten Heroes flags will be installed on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Allenstown Police Department. The flags will be planted by volunteers and will remain in place through June 21. The third event will be the POW/MIA flag raising on May 22. Several Allenstown municipal sites will participate including the Community Center, Airgas and Pembroke Pines Country Club.
■Allenstown Highway Department spring cleanup and yard waste pickup will be every week until May 20. After May 20, pickup will be the first and third weeks of each month until Nov. 1.
■The new hours for the Allenstown Transfer Station are Tuesday and Thursday from 7-10 a.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

■The Chichester Board of Selectmen has appointed Bonnie Potter as tax collector. Bonnie is currently acting town clerk until Tuesday’s election.
■Chichester has made its name in the culinary world. Flannel Tavern on Suncook Valley Road has named its 6-ounce hand-pressed black Angus burger “the Chichester Burger.”
■The Chichester Youth Association gives thanks to Merrill Construction that went above and beyond to help get the baseball fields ready for the season. The upgraded baseball diamond and the hydroseeding of the area grass will be enjoyed.
■The Chichester Youth Association baseball season has started. On Monday, the minors team will play at Gilmanton at 5:45 p.m. On Tuesday, the minors will have a home game at 5:45 p.m. On Saturday, the rookies play at Pittsfield at 11 a.m. and the minors play at Loudon at 2 p.m. Check the Chichester Youth Association website for updates and directions to games.
■The Chichester Road Advisory Committee will meet at the Town Shed on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
■The Chichester Historical Society will meet Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Stop by its Main Street location to see artifacts.
■Chichester Central School students and staff will have a remote day on Tuesday. In-person classes resume on Wednesday.
■Chichester voting for town officials, school officials and zoning articles will occur on Tuesday at the school from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Masks will be required in the main gym meeting area. An area for unmasked people will be in the kindergarten area with an outside entrance. Unmasked people will be assisted with voting without leaving the kindergarten area. Unmasked people should plan for extra time as delays may happen because of ballot running between the kindergarten and gym areas. Make sure you bring ID to receive a ballot. Call the town office or the school with any questions. Town Hall will be closed on Tuesday. The town moderator is looking for ballot counters. Contact the town moderator if you are interested.
■The Chichester annual meeting will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. to discuss the budget and warrant articles. Contact the selectmen’s office for details. A town report is available online. Hard copies are available at Town Hall.
■The Chichester Grange will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at the parking lot at Town Hall for mulching and clean up of Memorial Park. Bring shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows.
■The Concord-Epsom Elks Lodge will be hosting an outdoor flea market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. There will be a plant sale and proceeds will go to Live and Let Live Farm in Chichester. If you would like to host a table or donate plants, please call Sarah at 833-0605.
■Saturday is Armed Forces Day. On May 16, 1776, the call went out to Chichester men to be ready and equip themselves to march on the shortest notice. Three Chichester men were at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1776.
■Chichester resident Becky Suomala recently appeared on WMUR Channel 9’s “New Hampshire Chronicle.” Becky is the senior biologist at the N.H. Audubon Society. She leads questions and answers on YouTube about what’s going on in nature.
■Holmes Flooring and Cabinetry was highlighted on WMUR Channel 9 News. Owner Peter Holmes spoke about the lumber crisis affecting the state. This business is a flooring, kitchen and bath remodeling center and is located on Suncook Valley Road.
■Jones Dairy Farm, owned by Gordon and Marion Jones of Pleasant Street, was recognized in “Country Folks Magazine” for being among the top 40 dairy herds in New England for the month of February. The 340 acre farm has received awards from New England Green Pastures, N.H. Dairy Farm of the Year, N.H. Dairy of Distinction, and the Agri-Mark Region 2 Quality Milk Award.

■State law requires that all dogs, age 4 months or older, be licensed each year. It’s already beyond the deadline, so keep in mind you will incur a $1 late fee per month beginning June 1. In-person Town Office hours are Mondays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m., Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the last Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon. Current information is needed to register.
■The board of selectmen meeting on Monday is at 6 p.m. at 1714 Dover Road. Meetings are open to the public. If you would like to be placed on the agenda to discuss a particular matter, please contact the staff at the selectmen’s office. There is also time at the end of each meeting for public comments, as well as any other business brought before the board.

■The Pittsfield Players return! The Pittsfield Players will be reopening the scenic theatre on May 21 to 22 at 7 p.m. The new season will open with two short one-act plays by David Ives, “Sure Thing” and “The Philadelphia.” Pittsfield Players will also be introducing a world premiere of “First Time,” a short skit written by Earnhardt Dail.
