■Chichester Central School has always been a popular place for turtles to lay their eggs in May and June. The area chosen by the turtles is between the school and the brook because of the good sun exposure and easy, sandy ground. Something to consider when picking up children in the school parking lot is to watch for turtle crossings.

Friends of the Suncook River has been inactive for months, but this month an annual report needs to be filed with the state to keep the non-profit alive. Getting non-profit status is difficult so it would be a shame to lose it, as the group can be positioned around any aspect of the Suncook River decided upon. If interested please email pauloman555@yahoo.com ASAP.
