The New Hampshire Historical Society’s exhibition galleries are now open. Exhibits include Discovering New Hampshire, White Mountains in the Parlor: The Art of Bringing Nature Indoors, and No Longer Denied: New Hampshire Women Win the Vote.
Admission is free for society members and children age 18 and under. Full-time students and active military personnel and their families are also admitted free of charge with a valid ID. School and youth groups of any size must be guided and scheduled in advance. Adult groups of 12 or more adults must also be guided and scheduled in advance. To schedule a group visit, contact Assistant Director of Education Jenn Walton at jwalton@nhhistory.org.
The society’s library continues to be open for research by advance appointment. Research appointments are available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Visit our “Using the Library” page for more information and to make a reservation.
Please note that the society’s current mask policy requires masks fully covering the mouth and nose to be worn by all visitors and staff in public spaces at the society.
While recent progress with vaccinations is very encouraging, no one can tell who is and who isn’t vaccinated. Our priority is to have a policy that promotes the health and safety of everyone – visitors and staff – present at the society.
The Society welcomes families with young children, and we know that only a very small percentage of children under 18 have been vaccinated. We also welcome all adults, including those who may not be able to be vaccinated due to a compromised immune system. In order to accommodate all individuals, young or older, we will continue to adhere to our existing mask policy until further notice.
