■After being postponed from July 3 due to rain, the Andover Historical Society (AHS) is holding a big flea market/yard sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This fundraiser for the AHS will be held at the freight shed in Potter Place, next to the historic train station just off Route 11, west of Andover Center. ■The Old Home Day Committee is asking residents of Salisbury to please vote for this year’s Citizen of the Year. The Old Home Day Committee is looking for nominations for an individual who has been active in town issues, who has gone above and beyond for the town of Salisbury, and served the people of Salisbury in different capacities. Please drop off your nomination in one of the boxes located at Crossroads Country Store, Academy Hall and the Salisbury Free Library. Nominations will be reviewed at Tuesday’s meeting. Come to Old Home Day on Aug. 7 to see who will be honored as the 2021 Salisbury Citizen of the Year. One vote per person. This meeting will include residents from Salisbury and all elected school board members. Hosted by Bruce Johnson (retired reading specialist) and Mike Jette (former MVHS science teacher and principal), they will answer questions and hear concerns from parents and taxpayers. Combined, Bruce and Mike have 45 years of service to the Merrimack Valley schools and have raised four children in Webster. This will be a true community meeting to listen and share. Both Webster and Salisbury have been a part of the Merrimack Valley Cooperative School District for over 55 years and the hope is to educate everyone in the important underlying principles of that partnership.

■Salisbury Old Home Days will take place on Aug 6-8. This year’s theme is “Salisbury Through the Decades.” Pick a decade and make a float for the parade! ■The town clerk is now open fully on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesdays from 3:30-8:30 p.m. Masks are recommended for all those who are not fully vaccinated. Please continue to observe social distancing. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license and all necessary documents with you. New vehicle registration and transfers need to be done in the office in person. Renewals may still be done online or through the mail. Payments may be made by cash, check (to the Town of Salisbury) or credit/debit card. Vehicle renewal registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in July. Please follow the directions in the letter enclosed and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. Online registration for dog licensing is now live. The town clerk will not be available on July 5 in observance of Independence Day.

Hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday from 1-7 p.m., Thursday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call or email the library (salisburyfree@gmail.com) to arrange no-contact pickup and delivery. Pickup and delivery services might not be available at all times due to staffing. Storytime is done live on Facebook on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. The library also participates in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. Any child age 5 and under who has not yet started kindergarten can participate. All books read with, or to, the participating child counts. Printing, scanning and faxing services are still available at the library by appointment. Call the library to make arrangements. The library also has passes for New Hampshire State Parks.
