■The Andover Community Church is holding a Rummage & Bake Sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p..m. in the Highland Lake Grange Hall, located at the corner of Route 11 and Chase Hill Road in East Andover. In addition to various items and baked goods, there will also be pre-made meals for sale. All proceeds go to the fund to re-pave the church parking lot.
■The Andover Fire Department is holding its annual Chicken Barbecue on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. at the East Andover Fire Station. The menu includes chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, coleslaw, beans and many kinds of desserts. The cost is $12 for adults, $8 for kids ages 5-12, kids under 5 are free. In addition to staying to eat inside or on picnic tables outside, there will also be a drive-through, take-home serving option.
■An Andover Garden Club is forming in town and all gardeners – whether novices or masters – are welcome to join. ■The Squam Lake Science Center presents “Two Tails Alike,” a special Zoom event on Wednesday at 11 a.m. An animal’s tail can serve as a rudder when swimming, with agility while flying, or can even function like an extra hand. A naturalist from Squam Lakes Natural Science Center tells tales of the tails of some of New Hampshire’s native wildlife. Contact the library for the link and details of this exciting program!
■The Annual Center Yard Sale is on Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Center gazebo green. Rain or shine, bring your treasures to sell, tables and your own cash box.

■The town clerk is now open to the public for indoor in-person service. Masks are recommended for all those not fully vaccinated. Please continue to observe social distancing and wait until you are either called or the person in front of you leaves the office. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license. Vehicle and dog renewals may still be completed online. Vehicle renewal registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in July. Please follow the directions in the letter enclosed and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. This only covers vehicles previously registered in Salisbury, not new vehicles or vehicles of new residents. Online vehicle registration for renewals and dog licensing is now live. ■Webster Old Home Day will be held on Aug. 21. There will be a parade, music in the Grove, and games. Bring a picnic and join the fun. Be sure to look to see who the person is riding in the police cruiser during the parade. It’s someone who is very important so be sure to wave. There will not be a chicken barbecue this year.
■There is a petition at the Town Hall for anyone who has concerns about the Concord Monitor paper delivery in Webster. Many people have experienced delays or missing papers. The petition will be mailed to the company that owns the newspaper. If you know someone who doesn’t subscribe to the paper, please let them know about the petition.
