■If you missed the Scout Sign Up/Information Night on Sept. 21 you can drop by Paul Smith School Gym any Tuesday night from 6 to 7 p.m. Cub Scouts are Grades K through 5, boys and girls are welcome. The older scouts are Grade 6 to age 18 and we are trying to get enough females to start a girl troop. ■The Farmers’ Market ends on Sept. 30 at Marceau Park from 3 to 6 p.m. This is the last chance to enjoy delicious locally grown produce and other food and craft items.
■Ionic Ragged Mountain 20 Order of the Eastern Star is holding a craft fair at 58 S. Main St. in Franklin on Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held on this date rain or shine. Please come and support local artisans and start your Christmas shopping early.
■The TRIP Center is taking reservations for an Encore Casino trip on Nov. 6. Payment is needed in advance. Call the TRIP Center at 934-4151 soon to book your seat and get all the details. The $35 fee is required in cash only and is nonrefundable. Space is limited, first come first served.
■Remember, city of Franklin elections on Oct. 5. Visit franklinnh.org/resident resources/miscellaneous/electionandvoting for details on how to vote and for a sample ballot for Wards 1, 2 and 3. Details also there for those who needs to register on election day and what to bring for documentation.
■Door-to-door senior transportation, wheelchair accessible, is available in the Franklin, Tilton, Northfield area Monday through Friday. Call (603) 225 – 1989 at least 24 hours in advance with questions and to schedule. Service to Andover, Danbury and Hill on Fridays.
■The Franklin Bread & Roses Kitchen has reopened for meals on Mondays and Thursdays. The Kitchen is in the Unitarian University Church. Doors open at 4 p.m. and meals are served at 5 p.m.
■On Sept. 25 the Franklin Opera House welcomes Rockin’ Daddios to the stage. Tap your toes and sing along to their fun and stylish renditions of hits from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Visit franklinoperahouse.org for tickets and more information. Some seating limitations are currently in effect.
■The Thrift Clothes Closet is gathering toiletries and hygiene products to give to Karma Korner. Call 934-2423 with any questions. Be sure to visit the Closet’s Facebook regularly to keep up on all their good work and excellent deals. The Closet generously donates their profits to many local organizations.
■Karma Korner, the in-school (free) store for students needs school supplies, underwear, detergent pods for the laundry. Later in the season they will be collecting winter outerwear, so keep that in mind as you go through your closets. At this time, the Korner cannot accept any clothing.
■Shelving for display purposes is needed by Karma Korner. If you or someone you know has shelves they no longer need, please call the high school at 934-5411 to arrange for drop-off.
