■Franklin City Council meets on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at City Hall.  Included will be a public hearing to amend the Franklin Municipal Code relative to fireworks, violations, and penalties. Remote access, listening only.  Visit franklinnh.org for the link to Zoom and the agenda.

■Franklin Gear Makerspace board of directors meets Nov. 4 and the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Café. All are welcome. ■Franklin Historical Society meets on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. Presenter Andrew Cushing, Director of the New Hampshire Bureau of Historic Sites will speak on “How the Historic Sites of NH become part of the State Park System.” There will be a special section devoted to the history of the Daniel Webster Birthplace, with information taken from the Society’s archives.

■Karma Korner has specific needs for men’s gym style pants and boxer briefs, size large. Deodorants for both genders are very much needed as well as blankets. Non-perishable foods are always appreciated. The items can be dropped off at the high school office daily.

■Medicare Open Enrollment Period runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Medicare Drug and Health Plans can change premiums, deductibles and what they cover every year. ■The Masons at 58 S. Main Street hosts delicious made-to-order breakfast Oct. 31 from 7 to 10 a.m. Browse the indoor yard sale while you wait. Breakfasts are served every other Sunday with the next on Nov. 14.
