Two weeks ago, we made appointments for our booster Covid shots at a Concord pharmacy. They told my wife one of the pharmacists could come out to our car to give me mine, as I’m unable to walk after a fall and she cannot lift a wheelchair in and out of the car. When we arrived at the pharmacy, she was told there was one pharmacist and could not leave the store. She came out to the car in tears. It was especially important for me to get the shot, because I was scheduled to have heart surgery the next week. As we drove out of the parking lot, I saw the words “Concord Fire Dept” on the building across the street. I said, “Quick, turn in there. Go into the desk and ask if they can help.” She returned in a couple of minutes and said they were coming across the street with a wheeled chair to get me into the pharmacist. We parked again and immediately three men in brilliant red jackets arrived. We got in, got our shots, and thanked the firemen profusely for their timely assistance. The surgery also went well. Many thanks, CFD!
