Franklin Festival of Trees

What: Groups in and around Franklin show their appreciation and support for the arts by donating fully decorated trees, wreaths, gift baskets, and more. Raffle tickets are sold at the door to win everything on or under the trees or wreaths.

When: Dec. 4 and 11, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon and Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. Drawings begin at 3 p.m. on Dec. 12, you do not need to be present to win.

‘Elf: The Musical’

What: Franklin Footlight Theatre presents the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. (Festival of Tress open to ticket holders.)

‘The Dysfunction of Social Practice’

What: An evening of experiential dance with Joan Brodsky and Kelley Stelling Contemporary with dancers Kelly Diamond, Alyssa Desruisseaux, Anthony Bounphakhom and Sallie Werst. Art and horse d’oeuvres. All attendees must be vaccinated to attend.

Nutcracker Ballet

What: This dynamic performance includes all of your favorite characters. In the Land of Sweets, you will be introduced to a variation unique to Safe Haven Ballet called The Brave American. Included in our cast are Safe Haven Ballet professional company members, trainees and guest artist, Kenny Corrigan from New York City. Safe Haven Ballet offers free trauma-sensitive classes to survivors of sexual/domestic violence and trauma, some of whom will be in the production.
