Concord Chorale warmly invites you to attend “Gloria!” a concert featuring Antonio Vivaldi’s piece by the same name, as well as festive carols and songs that emphasize the joy of gathering together. This concert will also be Concord Chorale’s first with new collaborative pianist Liya Nigmati, who began working with Concord Chorale in September 2021.

Performances will be Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 3 p0.m. at South Congregational Church.

Vivaldi’s Gloria is a Baroque masterpiece originally written to be sung by students of an all-girl’s boarding school in Venice. This concert will feature three young soloists, including high school senior Harriet Pearce of Hooksett, who is a voice student at Concord Community Music School.

Concord Chorale began rehearsing for this concert in person in September. This semester has been the Chorale’s first full semester with in-person rehearsals since their December 2019 semester.

“There is nothing like having all of our voices in the same room,” says Jenny Cooper, director of Concord Chorale. “It has been so fulfilling to be singing with each other this fall and we can’t wait to surround our audiences with the sound of festive and long-loved music.”

Concord Chorale plans to present the concert in person at South Congregational Church in Concord, and it will be livestreamed as well on YouTube (accessed via concordchorale.org or search YouTube for “Concord Chorale NH”).

“We are very excited about the prospect of performing together with a live audience,” says Chorale president Elibet Chase. “While we enjoy being together to rehearse, what we really love is seeing our appreciative audience and spreading the joy of music together.”

Masks, proof of vaccination, and photo ID required for in person performances.  Due to the ever-changing nature of the pandemic, please be sure to check concordchorale.org for the most up to date information a few days before the concert.

Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for senior 62 and older for both the livestream and live shows. Student tickets are free. All tickets must be purchased online in advance.
