■The Penacook Community Center (PCC) is now under the management of the Boys and Girls Club of Central New Hampshire. The Older Adult Program will be transitioning to the Good Life Programs (Centennial Senior Center), effective Jan. 1, 2022. This senior activity center is located 10 minutes down the road from the PCC site and is solely for adults aged 50 and older, offering a wide range of activities and programs. Memberships are free, quarterly newsletters are mailed out and monthly activity calendars can be obtained at the center.

■The Penacook Winter Farmers Market is open at the Riverhill Grange, on Wednesdays, from 3 to 6 p.m.

■The freezers are full of beef for sale at the Morrill Farm. They will be open all winter on Thursdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Offerings include: ground beef, steaks, roasts, sausages, stew meat, and more. Cash or card are accepted.

■The joy of Christmas comes alive on stage at “A Dickens Celebration,” on Saturday at the Concord City Auditorium. Featuring the timeless story of “The Little Match Girl,” by the Piccola Youth Opera, this production will offer holiday music performed by The Piccola Opera Dickens Carolers. ■Reserve your spot at the Pope Memorial SPCA low cost vaccinations on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. An online form must be completed and sent in before the appointment. Bring your cats, dogs and ferrets for a rabies vaccination ($20), microchip ($25), kennel cough vaccine ($15), and distemper vaccine ($15). Bring proof of past rabies vaccination to determine one or three year vaccines are needed. Cats must be safely in carriers and dogs on a leash. Payment is due at the time of online registration. ■Today is Concord Chorale’s Gloria! A concert for the season with Chamber Orchestra, featuring “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi, “Magnificat” by Johann Pachelbel and works by Higdon, Johnson, Labarr, and Garrett. ■On Wednesday at noon join Diane and friends at GoodLife Programs & Activities to learn how to make a basket. This little basket would make a lovely decoration or gift. Woven of rattan reed, it has added dyed red and green details, plus a handle. The instructor and two assistants will guide you through the experience of weaving a basket. This basket will take at least three to four hours to complete (and the instructor will stay longer, if needed, to ensure that everyone finishes their basket). All tools will be provided for your use during the class. Having good hand strength is recommended! This is an in-person event!
