Concord attorney Samantha Elliott was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a judge for the U.S. District Court of New Hampshire with a bipartisan vote of 62-37.

Elliot is the vice president of Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, P.C, and previously served as the Concord firm’s president. She was also a co-chair of the founding board of statewide legal aid organization 603 Legal Aid.

Democratic U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan voiced their support for Elliott on the Senate floor Wednesday. Both emphasized her commitment to ensuring equal access to the legal system for all New Hampshire residents and her positive reputation in the state’s legal community.

“Samantha has consistently demonstrated her commitment to ensuring that everyone has access to justice no matter their socio-economic status,” Shaheen said. “As a result of her commitment, tenacity and respect for the law, Samantha’s nomination has garnered widespread support throughout the New Hampshire legal community.”
