■The Old Man Boring Book Club (OMBBC) will meet on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. in the library. If you love to read non-fiction, this is the group for you! Bring titles that you would like to share with this group of interested men and women.
■On Pins and Needles: This new handiwork club is already attracting many fiber artists and beginners looking to start a new hobby. Bring your knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting or other fiber craft along and join Cheryl by the fireplace at 2 p.m. every Wednesday. All levels are welcome.
■Elkins Café: Join Rachel by the fireplace on the first and third Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. for an hour (Feb. 3 and 17). Come and enjoy a coffee or tea and sit together. This is a time of group-led discussion and activity. At this meeting, we will be making homemade Valentines to send to loved ones. Stop by and see what this group is all about.
■Expanded Town Clerk-Tax Collector hours effective on Jan. 1. The office hours of the Town Clerk-Tax Collector will be increased to: Mondays and Wednesdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays noon to 7 p.m.
■Second-half property tax bills were sent out Nov. 19, and were due Dec. 21. Please note that all tax billing information, including copies of the tax bill and a history of payments made, is always available online at NHTaxKiosk.com, and also linked through the Town’s website canterbury-nh.org, where the “Pay Property Taxes” button is.
■The Town Clerk-Tax Collector’s office now accepts credit cards (in addition to cash or check) for payment of transactions at the office. Please be aware that, similarly to the online card payment option, there is a 2.79% service fee added to the total in addition to the amount due.

■The Webster Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. The hearing will be held at the Town Hall in the Grange Hall. The Board will consider an application from John and Leslie Collins for a variance to the setback and lot requirements under Article IV Sections 2 and 4 of the Webster Zoning Ordinance, to build a single-family home within the 50 foot setback on a private right of way.
■The Energy Committee will meet on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Select Board conference room.
■The Conservation Commission will meet on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Grange Hall.

■As a tribute to Sidney Poitier, the Webster Free Public Library presents “In the Heat of the Night” for its free Friday movie on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. African-American Philadelphia police detective Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier) is arrested on suspicion of murder by Bill Gillespie (Rod Steiger), the racist police chief of tiny Sparta, Miss. After Tibbs proves not only his own innocence but that of another man, he joins forces with Gillespie to track down the real killer. Their investigation takes them through every social level of the town, with Tibbs making enemies as well as unlikely friends as he hunts for the truth. As usual, there will be comfy chairs and snacks. Masks are mandatory.
■The Annual Meeting for the Pillsbury Lake Village District will be on March 9 at 6 p.m. at the Webster Town Hall. IDs are required for voting.
