Fellowship Housing Opportunities, Inc. is a local not-for-profit that provides affordable housing to individuals living with mental health issues. We have been rooted in the community since 1966 and have a strong passion for historic preservation.
Our Fellowship Apartments project received a Historic Preservation Merit Award in 1993 in recognition of the preservation of the cultural heritage of the City of Concord. Our Washington Court project was determined to have significance and integrity that made it eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and is considered a good example of Italianate design, which was popular in the 1850s. The rehabilitation of our Jackson Street property, formerly know as the John H. Edgerly House, was described as an eclectic late 19th-century dwelling eligible for the register as a contributing building to the North End Historic Neighborhood. Our Fayette Street Property was formerly known as The Webster House and is listed on the Register as a contributing building in the city’s Abbot-Downing Historic Neighborhood. The NH Division of Historical Resources considers our Pleasant Street Project to be a contributing property within the Downtown Concord Historic District.
Needless to say when it came time to assist in the preservation of the Gasholder here in Concord, we wanted to help. We are working in cooperation with the NH Preservation Alliance and the approval of Jennifer Goodman, executive director, by raising funds by selling Cat’s Meow Village replicas of the Gasholder. All proceeds will be shared equally with the Gasholder Fund and the efforts of Fellowship Housing Opportunities to support the housing crisis that exists in our community. These replicas are available for $35 and can be purchased at our office, located at 36 Pleasant Street, and also at the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Gift Shop.
