Freedom is not free. Freedom requires people to stand up and protect it. It also requires American high ranking officials past and present who hold a megaphone to be proponents of democracies around the world, and to denounce dictators who would prefer their own authoritarian regimes over democracy.
For anyone to openly “admire” these dictators is anti-American and should never again even remotely be considered for holding any public office in this country ever again. This should be so obvious, but sadly it is not.
