As we watch in horror, as the people of Ukraine are slaughtered, it is past time to do something. I propose that the NATO allies give Putin an ultimatum to begin withdrawing his troops by a date certain, after which time NATO will begin attacking them, and more importantly, their equipment, to drive them out of Ukraine.
We should make it clear that we will not attack Russia, just the Russian forces that are in Ukraine. And we will not attack the troops that are headed out of the country. Some will caution that this will provoke Putin to use nuclear weapons. I doubt it. He has already called the sanctions a declaration on war. But this action would be directed at the invading troops, not Russia itself. I welcome other ideas to save Ukraine from total destruction.
