Why aren’t Medicare prescription drugs prices allowed to be negotiated? As a Medicare recipient I am very concerned about this issue. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, “noninterference clause” in the Medicare Law is the reason. The time is now to let our elected officials know that seniors cannot afford to pay high prices for vital prescription drugs, especially when high inflation and supply chain issues are driving up costs for essential items of food and fuel.
Sens. Shaheen and Hassan have been supporters of reforms to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices. Granite Staters and seniors across the county, are counting on them to work hard to convince their colleagues in the Senate to vote in favor of these reforms.
