CHICHESTER Museum passes

■Chichester School vacation is this week. The library has free museum passes available. Stop by the library and the staff will accommodate you with family passes to the NH Museum.

■BCEP will meet on April 28 at 6 p.m. at the facility in Pittsfield.

■Remember dog licenses are due this week. Pay before fines start.

■Administrative Professional Day is on April 27. Stop by the town hall and say “hi” to our Town Administrator Jodie and Town Administrator Assistant Kristy.

■Chichester Youth Association Baseball starts this Saturday with tee-ball at Carpenter Park at 9 a.m. The Minors will play at the Epsom School at 2 p.m. The Rookies have a game in Carpenter Park at noon.

■Chichester has amazing volunteers and provides a vital role in our town. National Volunteer Week celebrates our volunteers who work with the school and town. Chichester Youth Association, The Chichester PTO, and all those who serve on town committees are the best volunteers ever.

■The Cemetery Trustees announced that the gates at Leavitt Cemetery have been opened.

■Art Club with Mrs. Perkins, starting on May 2, Kindergarten through 5th Grade will meet from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. and Grades 6, 7 and 8 meet every Monday remaining of the school year.

■Burning permits are required for any outside burning even while it is raining for the following: seasonal cooking, campfires, brush, chimenea and outside fireplace. Fire permits are not required for charcoal or gas grills located off the ground. Burning permits can be obtained at the fire department or online. For questions, call 798-5954.

■The Out of Your Attic Thrift Shop had brand named handbags come into the shop. Brands such as Ted Lapidus Paris were a surprise to be seen along with other popular brands.

■Congratulations to Valerie Koch on her recognition in her teaching career and making the best future educators in the state by NNHTI students. Valerie was honored as 2021 Teacher of the Year at NH College with NH Careers and Teach Education and her ability to work with students at the Concord Regional Tech Center.

■The Chichester Firefighters Association will be sponsoring a town-wide yard sale on June 11. See their Facebook page for information.

■The library has ongoing events, preschool story occurs on Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m. and Music and Movement for toddlers on Thursday at 10:45 a.m.

■The Caramba Soccer Camp will return to Carpenter Park from July 18 to 22 with full day and half-day options. More information is at soccerscamp.org. This is not an event by the Chichester Youth Association and questions need to be addressed to Caramba.

■Several Chichester residents have received emails recently asking for money to be sent to a specific email address. This email looks legitimate as it comes from another resident asking for help. Do not get scammed.

■Chichester Central School has posted vacancies for the 2022 to 2023 school year. Available positions are for teachers in Grades 1 to 5. An opening position for Kindergarten to Grade 8 guidance counselor availability starting on Aug. 25. Contact SAU for applications.

EPSOM Library events

■Story Times at the Library on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Join us for stories, songs and a snack. April themes include spring, baby animals, Easter, and Earth Day.

■Children’s Movie at the Library on April 26 at 1:30 p.m., “Sing 2.” The movie is rated PG and snacks and drinks are included.

■The Knitters Group will continue to meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

■Pittsfield Old Home Day is July 23. We are hoping groups, organizations and businesses will consider entering a float for the parade!

■The Suncook Valley Lions Club will meet on April 26 at 6 p.m. at the Pittsfield Congregational Church. We are looking forward to seeing everyone after a long absence.

■What’s Up at PYW? We have exciting things planned for Spring Break! Our Tuesday and Thursday trips require a permission slip so be sure to pick one up in the lobby at PYW. ■Project Inspire 603 is a non-profit started by Dee and George Ashford in memory of their daughter Vanessa Stevens. Vanessa was a Special Education teacher and her passion for teaching was a driving force for the Ashfords to keep her memory alive. They have donated school supplies to area schools in her memory. A perennial plant sale, birdhouses, garden décor and raffles was started and have grown to continue the wonderful effort of donating supplies to local schools. The 2022 plant sale will be held on May 13 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 88 Kelsey Mill Road in Northwood.
