I recently read an article where, in 1244, the Emperor Frederick ll of Rome was at war with Pope Innocent lV. His armies were attacking throughout Italy, including the small town of Assisi. St. Claire heard of the attack and although very ill and confined to bed, asked that the Blessed Sacrament, in a monstrance be brought to her. After praying she rose and stood on the roof of her convent, elevated the monstrance and prayed, beseeching God to protect the people of Assisi. The invaders stopped dead in their tracts and retreated.
I firmly believe that the war in Ukraine would end if the Pope would go to Ukraine and all the clerics of Ukraine and the world would, at the same time, raise the Eucharist in the monstrance and pray for an end to this war, the Russians soldiers would lay down their weapons and the war would end.
God has not lost His power. He is more powerful than Putin and all the sophisticated armaments that are being sent to Ukraine. Itโs not Godโs power that is weak, itโs the belief of the people of the entire world.
