CHICHESTER Cable hearing

■Happy Father’s Day to all the dads or soon-to-be dads.

■The Selectmen will hold a public hearing on June 21 at 6 p.m. during a regular meeting to receive public testimony on the renewal of the franchise for cable service agreement with Comcast.

■The Old Home Day Committee will meet at the Carpenter Park on June 21 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the Aug. 19 and 20 Old Home Day Event. Volunteers are always needed.

■June 22 is the last day of school and will be an early release day.

■The library will hold a book sale on June 25 from 9 to 1. Other vendors will be participating.

■The property tax bill has been mailed and will be due July 12. The Tax Collector hours are updated as follows: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

■Sympathy to the family of Freda Jones who recently passed away. Freda served the school board for over 20 years, her six children attended our elementary school. She and her husband Bill brought a farm in 1952 on Pleasant Street and the Jones Dairy Farm in Chichester, which is still operated by her family.

■Tonjah Kelm, Daniel Schroth, Sally Hoskinson Kelly, James Conrad Allard, Cyril Aures and Clayton Wood have filed to run for NH State Representative for District 13, which covers Chichester and Pittsfield, in the Sept. 13 primary.

■Planning board meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 at the town meeting room.

■Teen & Adult Art Night at the library will be Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to create your personal mandala.

■EYAA Fall Soccer Registration will be open during the month of June. Registration will close on June 30. Children starting at age 4 through 6th grade may register. PITTSFIELD Alumni spotlight

■Congratulations to the Pittsfield Middle High School Class of 2022! Best wishes to all of you wherever you go and whatever you do!

■The Pittsfield Circle of Home and Family group will meet at the Flannel Tavern on June 23 at 5:30 p.m. for the annual banquet.

■The Pittsfield High School Alumni Association inducted two new members to the Alumni Spotlight at Exhibition Night on June 9. Although a small town with a small school, Pittsfield has proudly produced some amazing graduates who have had significant influence in many areas. The first recipient was Walter William Bishop. Bishop graduated in 1948. Following graduation, he entered the Navy, graduated from basic training in Illinois, volunteered for the Submarine Force and completed Submarine School in Connecticut. Bishop was on the USS Corporal, USS Wahoo, USS Sargo, and USS Scorpion. The second recipient was Victor Drouin. Drouin graduated in 1981. He is the owner of Green Mountain Communications in Pembroke. Drouin began his journey in the field of communications by working for a company in Maine shortly after graduation. He took advantage of good on-the-job training and a boss who provided guidance and inspiration. This work took him to California where he started his own communications business and succeeded in building networks for long-distance carriers in 46 states across the country. Congratulations to both!

■On June 21 at the First Congregational Church of Pittsfield, the Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open from 9-11 a.m. Each family is eligible to come for the supplemental diapers once per opening (twice a month). Each family receives one set of diapers/products per child in need and one package of wipes per family. We generally have NB through size 6 diapers, along with pull-ups and overnights. We use the parking lot off Chestnut Street. We will also be accepting donations of diapers and wipes, including open packages. Please call 435-7471 if you have any questions.

■Pittsfield Youth Workshop has trips scheduled for most Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout July and August, so check out the calendar. Our summer drop-in hours will begin June 22 Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. To opt-in to our messages text (603) 234-9788.

■The Pittsfield Senior Center is happy to be open once again. As the summer continues programs will be added. ■South Pittsfield Community Club Ham and Bean Suppers are bac June 11 and June 25, 5 to 6:30 p.m., at 444 Dowboro Road. Prices are adults $10, children ages 6 to 12 $5, under age 6 free. Menu includes ham, baked beans, brown bread, potato salad, drinks and pies. Eat-in or take out.

■Kick off the library’s Summer Reading Program “Oceans of Possibilities” by entering an art contest. All entries should follow an ocean theme, are due to the library by June 20. Winning entries will be featured on a mural to be made by community members at Old Home Day.
