At the Muddy Rudder your choices are baked haddock, steak tips or chicken piccata, all served with a starch and seasonal vegetable. ■The Chichester Youth Association will meet on July 10 at 6 p.m. at Carpenter Park.
■The Historical Society welcomes everyone to their summer picnic at Thunder Bridge on Depot Road on July 11. Bring your own sandwich and drink, and desserts will be provided. Inclement weather the event will be held at the historical society on Main Street.
■Chichester property taxes are due on July 12. A reminder that the office is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Taxes can be paid in-person, left in the drop-off box outside the entrance or paid online through the town website. If mailed, the postmark must be July 12. Any received after the due date is subject to interest.
■The Chichester Fire Department (FD) would like to remind everyone to not call the fire station if you have an emergency of any type. Staff is not always there to answer the telephone and could cause a delay in helping you in a timely manner. Call 911, as it’s the only emergency number you need. The FD was busy during the month of June with 27 EMS calls, five alarm system calls, four dispatched, standby and assists and five miscellaneous.

■Sympathy to the family of Patricia Sudak. Patricia passed away earlier this month. She served the town as deputy town clerk and tax collector in past years.

■Winding Wicks Farm, The Hromis family, showed their Romney Sheep at the All American Junior Sheep Show in Springfield Mass. The farm has impressive wins as reserve champion White Ewe, champion junior white ram, and White Four Best Head champion. Natural Colored Show champion went to their senior ram lamb. Reserve champion yearling ewe in the Champion NC Ewe division. Congratulations on all their wins.

■PES PTO is hosting a race for Autism at Old Home Day on July 23. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to NH Family Voices. The race consists of two laps around Drake Field with three checkpoints in each lap. Checkpoints will be fun activities like jumping rope and tossing a ball. Race Check-In starts at 6:45 a.m. and the race starts at 7:15 a.m. The registration fee is $30 for ages 16 and older, $15 for ages 15 and younger (by July 15). ■The Drake Field Summer Recreation Program will run from June 28 through Aug. 4 under the direction of Louise Sawyer. The anticipated activities will include sports, arts and crafts, children’s games, and field trips. Children must enroll and only those children will participate. Field trips will be limited to 45 children. Some field trips will cost money and official field trip permission slips will be required. Activities will be canceled on rainy days. Children will be dismissed to walk home unless being picked up by a parent. All activities will be outside. Plan to come down and enjoy the fun. ■The PES PTO is excited to announce for the month of a July we will begin our community wide used/good condition clothing collection, we are specifically looking for children’s size 2T through 18. We will add collection sites through out the month, our big collection day will be July 23 during Old Homes Day. In the month of August we will announce our clothing-fundraiser date for families to come out and leave with some new-to-you clothing for the upcoming school year. ■The F.B. Argue Recreation Area (aka…Town Beach) is open. The Parks & Recreation Commission runs the facility. Family passes will again be available for $50, or you can pay the $1-a-day admission. Daily admission for non-residents will be $1.50 per person. Children under five will be admitted free with a paid adult. The Beach Area will be open for swimming Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. Some days we will have two lifeguards and others we will have one lifeguard with two beach attendants. The other big change this summer is that we have raised the minimum age to 10 years old for children to be there without an adult, and parents will be asked to sign a copy of the rules. This will be “swim at your own risk.” The concession stand will be open.
■Non-Red Cross swimming lessons will be offered this summer at the F.B. Argue Recreation Area. A swim lesson sign-up sheet can be obtained and registration will be held at the recreation area. The next session is – Nighttime: July 11 and 22. The cost for swimming lessons for Pittsfield residents is $15 per child per session, non-residents is $30 per child per session. ■What’s Up at Pittsfield Youth Workshop? There are lots of exciting activities planned! We have trips scheduled for most Tuesday and Thursday’s throughout July and August, so check out our calendar. ■At the Senior Center on July 11 at noon: The Gilmanton Dump Run Gang—Is from the Gilmanton Community church in Gilmanton and they play a wide variety of music that includes singing and many instruments. WMUR Channel 9 Chronical has done a story on them. So come in for lunch and enjoy a free show. On July 13 at 9:30 a.m.: Share Your Craft — all are welcome, show us what you do, bring some examples. Let’s see if other people want to learn also. Maybe you draw, paint, bead, knit, anything?

■Announcing the opening of the Panther Park Disc Golf Course. The course is made up of nine holes spread around the campus of the Pittsfield Elementary and Middle High Schools and is available for free use by the public, with the exception of during school hours. Disc Golf is an up-and-coming lifetime sport that has grown tremendously popular during the pandemic that combines the enjoyment of hiking through nature while throwing frisbee-like discs into targets.
■The story, Bruce’s Big Storm, by Ryan Higgins has recently been posted as the Josiah Carpenter Library’s first StoryWalk® for the summer. Tie up your walking shoes, grab a water bottle, and enjoy a walk through our beautiful little town while reading this installment of the uproarious, award winning Mother Bruce series. Families can pick up a map from the mailbox attached to the community bulletin board on Main Street at Dustin Park. As you return to the library on Main Street to read the last page of the story, stop in to pick up a free gift.
