■The return of the candidate yard signs can only mean one thing – it’s election season again! Registered voters will cast their ballots at the Old Town Hall in Canterbury Center on: Sept. 13 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (State Primary Election), and Nov. 8 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (State General Election). If you are not yet registered to vote in Canterbury and are eligible, you can either complete a registration form at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Sam Lake House on Hackleboro Road during office hours; or register with the Supervisors of the Checklist at one of the following: Sept. 1 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. (Sam Lake House) or at the polling place during the Primary or General Election. In order to register to vote, you must be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, a U.S. citizen and domiciled in Canterbury.
■Elkins Public Library: Lyme Disease; “Help and Hope from Leading Experts” on Sept. 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This will be an evening program focusing on Lyme Disease in the Town Hall featuring some experts in the field of study. Lynn A. Durand, MD, is a family medicine physician in Concord. He specializes in Lyme disease, and is known among people in the Lyme disease community as a “Lyme-literate” doctor, one who understands the disease and can help those who suffer from it. Katina Makris, a world-renowned homeopath of 39 years, host of Lyme Light Radio, and author of many books, has devoted 10 years and over 200 presentations to tick-borne disease education, after her personal near-death journey from the illness.
■Story Time, join us Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. for stories, songs and a craft. This program is perfect for children from birth through Kindergarten. Come to the library and meet your children’s future classmates while fostering a love of reading.

■The Town Offices and the Webster Free Public Library will be closed on Sept. 5 for Labor Day.

■Because Monday is a holiday, the Webster Select Board will meet on Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
■The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet on Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the downstairs conference room at Town Hall. This meeting is to make any final corrections to the Checklist for the Primary Election. This is also the last day to register to vote before the Primary Election.
