Concord High School students were ordered to shelter-in-place on Friday after two students with known medical conditions suffered back-to-back medical emergencies, school officials said.

“I want to let parents know that CHS went into lockdown around noon today as a result of back-to-back medical emergencies,” principal Michael Reardon wrote in an email to parents to quell any alarm or rumors. “This action was taken to ensure that responding medical personnel had clear access to reach and transport each patient.”

Continuing, he praised students at the high school for their response to the emergency.

The students were transported to local hospitals by the Concord Fire Department for medical evaluation. Their statuses are unknown.

Concord High School has an enrollment of about 1,500 students.
