■The BOS will meet on Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. at the town hall. The Planning Board will meet on Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the fire station to hear an application for a lot line adjustment on Map 9, lots 89 and 90. Transitions are in progress on the PB and new members are needed. Contact Kristy Jobin.

■The library welcome new trustees, Barbara Sweet and Lucille Noel. The library is busy with 1,088 patrons. On Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the library, “American Folk Music” by Jackie and Gary will be presented. This will be a free program with singing the good ole songs and classic music.

■Police Officer Ashely Wood and Chief Joshua Wright were recently sworn into our police department.

■The Supervisors of the Checklist released the follow stats on the recent election. Total votes were 599 with 570 voting in person, 29 absentee votes, and 28 new registrants.

■Fuel and Electric Assistance Applications are being accepted by the Community Action Program at Suncook Area Resource Center. Please don’t delay your application as processing time can take up to 60 days. Contact 223-0043 or SARC@capbm.org for an application. First time applicants after inquiring will receive an appointment time if needed, or the application can be left off at the Center, mailed or faxed to (603) 228-1898. The NH Energy Relief Package signed on Sept. 15 by the Governor will be handled by Resource Center.

■The Chichester Methodist Church was slightly damaged recently as a vehicle traveled onto the church lawn leaving tire marks and into the front of the building with minor damage.

■Chichester residents who are serving in the military or are oversea voters can receive their ballots at least 45 days before the Nov. 8 election. Town Clerk, Bonnie Potter, is authorized by state statue to email ballots. Contact her office at (603) 798-5350.

■The Brown Cemetery holds the Dr. Amassa Kelley stone. Dr. Kelley was the first physician in Chichester and lived at the corner of Kelley Corner and Pleasant Street. The stone has been restored by NH Monument and now stands proud to its origin.

■It’s getting close to the Band and Chorus time at CCS. Contact Mrs. Sherburne.

■Pickleball is at Carpenter Park. The equipment is available in waterproof containers near the basketball court. The court has been marked out by volunteers for your enjoyment.

■CCS will have a teachers workshop on Oct. 7 and school will be closed for the day, and closed on Oct. 10. Enjoy the long weekend.

■The Scholastic Book Fair is an annual learning event at CCS. Staff and students will get a chance to look at books on Oct. 11 during the day and families can scan the variety on Oct. 12 and 13 from 2:40 to 6 p.m. The fair is in need of plastic or paper grocery bags with handles, if you have extra bags please drop them off at the school.

■The CCS is having a flu shot clinic for students on Oct. 6. Permission forms have been sent home for parents to sign. Contact the nurse, Mrs. Strazzer,i at 798-5651.

■The Jackie and Gary trio that was scheduled by the library on Oct. 5 has been canceled.

■Winding Wicks Farm, the Hromis family, came home with several blue ribbons after attending the Big E with their romney sheep exhibition and had the Supreme Champion Romney fleece in the wool show class. Congratulations to Teresa Hromis on winning Sr. Showmanship and to her sister Catherine in placing fifth.

■Rebecca Bilodeau Herbert passed away on Sept. 23. Rebecca’s legacy in our community. Sympathies to the family.

■The library will be holding a Pumpkin People contest! Patrons are invited to decorate a pumpkin to look like their favorite book character! The only rule is that there is no carving allowed. Pumpkins can be dropped off at the library from Oct. 3 to 24, they will be displayed and patrons can vote on their favorite ones. The winner will be announced on Oct. 27!

■Mark your calendars for Oct. 7 and Oct 8 for the Evergreen Lodge #53 & Ivy Green Lodge #36 hosting its annual dinner show at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Short Falls Rd., in Epsom. ■The American Legion Peterson Cram Post 75 will meet on Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

■The Victory Workers 4-H Club will hold its first monthly meeting on Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at PES.

■On Oct. 4 at the First Congregational Church of Pittsfield NH, the Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open from 9 to 11 a.m. The pantry is open for families to receive supplemental diapers once per opening (twice a month). Each family receives one set of diapers/product per child in need, and one package of wipes per family. We generally have newborn through size six diapers, along with pull-ups and overnights. We use the parking lot off Chestnut Street. We always welcome financial donations, donations of diapers (including open packages) and donations of wipes. ■Harry Vogt will discuss Pittsfield’s Historic District and the key factors that were considered when the historic designation was made by the National Park Service. Please join us to learn why this area is considered historic and the benefits of the designation. This entertaining and informative program will be held on Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Pittsfield Historic Society. This program is free and open to the public.

■Harvest Fest will take place on Oct. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. (the rain date is on Oct. 29) at the FB Argue Recreation Area (Town Beach) on Clark Street. There will be horse drawn wagon rides, pumpkin carving and decorating, costume parade (2 p.m.), fall photo op, pie eating contests (1 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.) and vendors. There will be a cookout where you can buy hotdog-chips-water for $3 or hamburger-chips-water for $5. New this year, will be a chili cookoff (winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.) and Journeys End Farm products and hopefully many more.
