The popular Lakes Region Parade of Homes runs Columbus Day weekend, Oct. 8 to 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily. The Webster Congregational Church is holding a drive-thru chicken BBQ on Oct. 15 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Webster Fire Department. On Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., the Sanbornton Historical Society will have its annual meeting in our Lane Tavern on Sanborn Road, in the Square. The purpose of this is to elect officers for 2023. New would-be members and regular members are welcome and needed. Additionally, we need to fundraise and get the Currier Building rid of its lead paint underbase and rejuvenated with new paint. A professional painter will be hired. Wreath orders for holiday use were taken in September, with pick-up times scheduled for Nov. 27 and Dec. 3. On Oct. 15 and 22 at 10 a.m., Canterbury Shaker Village will host 5K cross-country races as part of the Delta Dental XC Series. Taking participants on trails, through fields and pastures, and around ponds, the races are held entirely on the grounds of the Village. Aside from providing participants with access to nature, races in the series are philanthropic, as 66% of proceeds will benefit the Village with the remainder allocated to Boys and Girls Club in Suncook.
