Celebrated as New Hampshire’s longest-enduring orchestra, the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra (NHPO) was established in 1895 and has consistently performed since 1905.

The 2022-2023 season opens on Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. with another performance on Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

This year marks The Phil’s 118th year of performances and its 11th season with Music Director, Mark Latham. The NHPO maintains its commitment to artistic excellence, educational impact, and community collaborations, all in service to its mission of enriching lives through the power of music.

The spirited partnership with Mark Latham is captured by his visionary storytelling, which is at the heart of the NHPO’s artistic profile. This collaboration has resulted in stronger connections with artists and patrons, as well as the elevation of the NHPO’s role as a leader in New Hampshire’s music education.

In addition to regular concert performances at Seifert Performing Arts Center, home of The Phil since 2018, the orchestra is an integral part of the diverse and vibrant Salem community, presenting education and community programs and performances throughout the region each year.

In 2022, The Phil marks the 15th anniversary of its annual music education program, Drawn to the Music, a robust music and arts education program that features curriculum materials, interactive program instructions, activities and learning opportunities for Elementary students in NH and northern MA.

The NHPO is growing its community and digital presence to increase accessibility to all. This expanding content portfolio includes offering live-streaming tickets as an option for those unable to travel; a discount ticket program with 25 local NH and MA libraries; elect concerts, filmed at Seifert Performing Arts Center, are also made available on our website and YouTube for those unable to attend.

“Nature and Myth” will be performed on Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. and Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Seifert Performing Arts Center at Salem High School. Visit nhphil.org.
