In hyper-partisan times, it is rare to see elected officials of different parties working together towards common sense solutions. But in the case of David Croft and Paul Halverson, sheriff and county attorney respectively, their mutual commitment to public service is a major win for Merrimack County. The two first-term incumbents of opposite parties demonstrate an iron-clad commitment to making the justice system work for everyone. As a member of the State Juvenile Parole Board, I see examples every day of how their investment in diversion programs fight recidivism and get young offenders back on the right track.
Most importantly, Croft and Halverson work together tirelessly to ensure the wheels of justice run smoothly, fairly and blindly. Their unwavering commitment to the institutions they serve is unmatched, and their background, knowledge and experience are unrivalled. When you vote on election day, remember that some races are partisan in name only. And in an era often devoid of bipartisanship, both men put party aside and do what’s right for the people they serve.
