■Get your costumes ready for downtown Concord’s spookiest night out! Intown Concord’s Halloween Howl and Trunk or Treat returns to Main Street on Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call (603) 226-2150 or visit Intownconcord.org.

■The Walker Lecture Series invites you to see “Turkey: Cradle of Civilization & Crossroads of Europe and Asia.” The event will be on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium, and there is no cost to attend. ■Join in on the public ice skating at the Everett Arena. ■Reserve your spot now as space is limited at the Pope Memorial SPCA low cost vaccinations on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. An online form must be completed and sent in before appointment. Bring your cats, dogs and ferrets for a rabies vaccination ($20), microchip ($25), kennel cough vaccine ($15), and distemper vaccine ($15). Bring proof of past rabies vaccination to determine a one or three-year vaccine. Cats must be safely in carrier and dogs on leash. Payment is due at time of online registration. ■Street closures include the ninth Annual New England Half Marathon on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Race begins at Gould Hill Farm in Hopkinton and ends in Downtown Concord on North Main Street, Hopkinton Road (westbound) from Currier Road to Langley Parkway; North Main Street, from School Street to Centre Street; Park Street, from North Main Street to North State Street; and Centre Street coned “runner lanes” to be set on North Main Street (southbound from Bouton Street to Centre Street); Bouton Street (southbound from Penacook Street to North Main Street.); Rumford Street, from Penacook Street to Albin Street; Liberty Street, from Centre Street to Rumford Street; and Auburn Street parking spaces will be encumbered on North State Street, from Capitol Street to Park Street; and on Capitol Street, from North State Street to North Main Street.

■The 13th Annual Halloween Howl on Friday will close streets from 4 to 8 p.m. The following streets will be closed: North Main Street from Centre Street/Loudon Road to Pleasant Street; Park Street from North Main Street to North State Street; Capitol Street from North Main Street to Evans Lane; School Street from North Main Street to Evans Lane; Warren Street from North Main Street to the entrance of the School Street Parking Garage; and Depot Street from North Main Street to Storrs Street.

■The Concord Farmers Market on Saturday closes streets from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Capitol Street, from Main Street to North State Street.
