ANDOVERHoliday Open House

■There will be a Holiday Open House and a chance to gather around the piano and sing a few familiar Christmas songs on Dec. 18 from 3 to 5 p.m., at The Andover Community Hub. This is also an opportunity to see the miniature Santa’s Village set up by Andover resident Renee Goodwin, on display now and through the end of the year, at any time The Hub is open. There will also be a few local handicrafts and products that might make good small gifts on display until Christmas.

■Andover residents are encouraged to drop off a gift card or two at the annual “Giving Tree” in order to help other residents who may be struggling financially this holiday season. The tree and a mail slot in which to put the gift cards are located on the front porch of The Andover Community Hub, next to Pizza Chef, until Dec. 17. Gift cards that can be used for groceries, gas or household needs are passed along to the Andover school and town office staff to distribute to families and individuals they know could use some extra help.

■New regular meeting time for the Stitch & Bitch group that gathers weekly at The Andover Community Hub: Wednesdays at 11 a.m. Anyone can bring their knitting, crocheting or whatever sewing or needlecraft project they’re working on for an opportunity to learn from each other, share techniques and patterns, or just chat. For information, call Nadia Hebert at (603) 735-4084.
