Concord’s two Rite Aid stores will be completely shut within a month, with the pharmacies in each location closing in late June.

Associates said they’ve been told that the Rite Aid on North State Street will close by the end of June, with the pharmacy closing June 26. The Rite Aid just off McKee Square will shut its pharmacy June 25, with the retail store staying opening through mid-July.

The closing of pharmacies is covered by government regulations concerning the storing and dispensing of controlled substances as well as health-care access.

The McKee Square property was purchased in March by Concord-area optometrist Tyler Weber through an LLC for $1.7 million.

Rite-Aid declared bankruptcy last month after trying to recover from a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2023. The retailer once had more than 2,000 locations but has been closing many stores over the past year, with all locations slated to be shut this summer.

A Rite-Aid in Pittsfield has already shuttered its doors, and the one in Allenstown is due to close in mid-July.
