Flames damaged much of a home at 132 Kaime Rd. in Chichester on Monday evening, sending one person to a burn unit for medical treatment.

Chichester Fire-Rescue received reports of a residential structure fire at around 9 p.m., according to a press release. Several neighboring departments also responded to the call and worked together to put out the two-alarm blaze within an hour.

Emergency medical personnel treated an adult male and a juvenile at the scene before transporting them both to Concord Hospital. One of the two people has since been moved for treatment at another facility.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office determined the cause to be a “cooking-related kitchen fire,” the press release stated.

The American Red Cross is providing support to the family, which has been displaced by the fire.

First responders came from Chichester, Pittsfield, Epsom, Loudon, Barnstead, Northwood, Gilmanton, Allenstown, Pembroke Fire, Pembroke EMS, Concord, Bow, Strafford and Hooksett, in addition to Capital Area Fire Mutual Aid Coordinators, with additional assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Chichester Police Department, the American Red Cross and Eversource.
