Douglas John MacKenzie

Madeira Beach, FL – Douglas MacKenzie, 85, of Madeira Beach, Florida
passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025 after a brief
illness.

Doug was born on January 6, 1940, in Concord, New Hampshire and moved
to Newport, New Hampshire with his parents Miriam and John MacKenzie
and his brother Steve. They returned to Concord where he graduated
from Concord High School. After graduation, he worked at Sears Roebuck
in the automotive department and attended New Hampshire Technical
Institute. He later started his own business, MacKenzie Remodeling and
worked until he retired to Madeira Beach, Florida where he refurbished
his dream home.

Doug’s lifelong dream was to become a pilot and own his own plane. He
achieved this goal and enjoyed years of flying. He was hard working,
dedicated, and could fix anything. He was a devoted husband and father
and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Doug and his family built a camp in
Benton, New Hampshire and enjoyed spending weekends there. In Florida,
Doug enjoyed his retirement and would often be found sitting on his
patio with friends, drinking Michelob ultra, listening to Jimmy
Buffet.

Doug is survived by his wife, Nettie and her two children, Lisa
Woodward and family and son Timothy Hickey and family. He is also
survived by his daughter, Donna MacKenzie and family, his son David
MacKenzie, and his daughter, Diana Fallon and family. He leaves a
brother Steve MacKenzie and family. Doug also leaves stepdaughter,
Madeline Anderson, and her husband.
