Vote Amanda Grady Sexton on November 4
I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Amanda Grady Sexton on numerous public safety initiatives to make Concord a safer and stronger community. As the chair of the City’s Public Safety Advisory Board, Amanda has been the council’s chief advocate for the Concord Police Department’s prevention programming, which is used as a model for communities and states across the U.S.
Most recently, Amanda successfully advocated to expand the police department’s social work program, which has produced measurable results and cost savings for our community. This program helps connect residents with social services from specialized non-profit organizations. Prior to the creation of our social work program, many residents were reliant on more costly fire and police emergency services.
By ensuring that social workers focus on helping to stabilize and refer residents with long-term needs, Amanda has helped police and fire personnel stay focused on critical work, like traffic control and accidents, investigations, and crime prevention efforts. This kind of practical and compassionate problem-solving is exactly what effective local government looks like.
Amanda’s years of experience building partnerships with stakeholders across the city and state allow her to address challenges quickly and effectively. I’ve seen, time and again, how elected officials, business owners, organizations, and residents like me turn to her with complex issues because they know she’ll bring the right people together to find solutions that work for everyone.
I strongly support her re-election to the City Council At-Large and urge you to vote for her on November 4.
