A Concord woman was found dead inside her apartment on the Heights Saturday after neighbors called police for a welfare check.
An autopsy and initial police investigation have ruled out foul play in the death of Donna L. Johnson, 72, Concord Police said Tuesday. A cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Johnson lived in an apartment in the Royal Gardens complex off East Side Drive. A neighbor called police on Oct. 11, worried that they “had not seen their older female neighbor in a few days,” according to police.
Getting no response at the door, police forced entry into the apartment and found Johnson. Further investigation at the scene meant there was a lingering police presence at the apartment into Sunday.
Police are urging anyone with information relevant to Johnson’s death and who wishes to remain anonymous to contact the Concord Regional Crimeline at (603) 226-3100.
