Principles enshrined in our Constitution

I am not a democrat or a republican — I am fiercely independent. I value our state’s “Live Free or Die” mentality. And my message to our representatives is simple: Do your job. You took an oath, now uphold it.

From the outset, this administration has demonstrated a lack of respect for the Constitution and the Rule of Law. The list of abuses is long and growing daily.

And while this behavior is profoundly disturbing, it is exacerbated by members of Congress who swore to “support and defend the Constitution” and have relinquished their role as a co-equal branch of government.

To address this, I invite you to join a non-partisan group of concerned citizens demanding that members of Congress honor their oath. This effort is led by veterans who are dismayed that members of Congress are failing to defend our Constitution.

The group is named “Ragtag” to symbolize its connection to the ragtag group in the Continental Army who fought for freedom and the Rule of Law. Like that ragtag band of patriots, we come from diverse backgrounds but are united in our belief that democracy must be defended, not just in words, but in action.

We expect Congress to uphold its role as a co-equal branch and resist the unlawful overreach of this administration. And we invite you to stand with us.

Let your Congressional representatives know that if they will not honor their oath to defend the Constitution, we will hold them accountable at the ballot box.
