The New Hampshire Soccer Coaches Association (NHSCA) announced its All-State divisional, All-Tournament divisional and the new โ€œNHSCA State Team,โ€ which was a top-11 list of players across all four divisions, as chosen by United Soccer Coaches members.

Hopkinton senior Fin Murphy, who won last yearโ€™s Division III Player of the Season and recognition as the 2024 Concord Monitor Boysโ€™ Soccer Player of the Season, once again topped the list of local high school soccer players.

The midfielder was named to the NHSCA Boys State Team, D-III First Team and D-III All-Tournament team after finishing with 14 goals and 15 assists in 19 games this season, with two goals in the playoffs.

Coe-Brown senior Bella Lapierre received similar recognition and made the NHSCA Girls State Team and D-II First Team as a forward, as she led the Bears in scoring with 14 goals and five assists. She finished her high school career with 65 goals and 22 assists after four years of varsity play.

Also receiving special recognition, Pembroke girlsโ€™ soccer coach Jess Kaufman-Desrochers was named the NHSCA Hall of Fame Honoree for her contributions to the sport.

Kaufman-Desrochers has coached the Spartans for 15 years and has coached them to three Division II state championships during her tenure, most recently in 2021. She also received the Preston Eames Award for her contributions to soccer in the state of New Hampshire in 2024 and has served as the coaches associationโ€™s secretary and board member.

โ€œShe built her program on accountability and respect โ€” and leads with unity over rivalry. Jess not only developed strong, resilient athletes but also uplifted fellow coaches, always willing to share her knowledge, experience and support,โ€ read one of the nomination statements for the Hall of Fame ballot in her favor.

Other local coaches also received prestigious awards.

Pembrokeโ€™s Drou Goff was named D-II Boys Soccer Coach of the Year after taking his team from a 4-10-2 finish in 2024 to the third-seed with a 10-1-5 record this season.

Now, in his third year at the helm, he has achieved complete buy-in from players and has shown that teams can go far with gritty defense, poise in possession and self-belief. The Spartans were upset unexpectedly in the quarterfinals but have built experience and a soccer foundation that will continue into next season.

Kearsargeโ€™s Couper Gunn had a similar path to winning the D-III Coach of the Year after returning the Cougars to their first boysโ€™ soccer state championship appearance since 1995.

Gunn took over the Kearsarge team four years ago and slowly built the program up into a powerful contender. This yearโ€™s seniors played in his system throughout their high school careers and looked like a well-polished defensive stalwart.

After going 8-6-4 and losing in the playoffs in 2024, the Cougars finished with a 15-1-4 with their only loss coming in the championship against St. Thomas. Itโ€™s safe to say Gunn and his Kearsarge team will be strong next year and contend with the top teams in the division.
