Ski The Beav and Concord Parks and Rec hosted their annual Capital Cross-Country Ski day on Sunday, in between snowstorms.

Over 100 people participated in the Learn to Ski program, 30 in the adult sprint races and 30 kids in the youth races, and all fit into the expanse of trails at Beaver Meadow.

“It was pretty cool to see the range—it was literally everyone from kindergarteners to folks in their 80s and 90s,” said Sam Evans-Brown, chair of Ski The Beav.

The day was moved to Sunday after adverse weather, and the snow conditions were perfect according to organizers.

The races were described as low-key, community-oriented freestyle sprints (1-1.5k) in a Queen’s Court format.
