The Who matters

Why I hate the phrase: “vote blue no matter who.” It’s the Who that matters.

The majority of Americans oppose the war we inflicted upon Iran with the behest of the Israeli government. A majority of Democrats oppose Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank. Hopefully, they also recognize the scorched earth policy Israel is waging on Lebanon. They understand Israel is also attacking Syria. Israel does not abide by ceasefire agreements.

So, given those sentiments, why would we vote for Congressional candidates who support Israel despite that country’s track record on human rights that a change in policy will ever occur?

Take Rep. Chris Pappas for example. He has taken $2,709,473 from AIPAC (trackaipac.com). Likewise, Hassan, Goodlander and Shaheen have all taken campaign funds from AIPAC.

It is reported that the U.S. spent over $28 dollars on the military campaign against Iran in 44 days of war (militaryspend.org). The Senatorial candidate I am supporting, Karishma Manzur, has pointed out if that money was sent to the states instead of directed at killing school children and civilians in other countries, imagine how those taxpayer dollars could be spent on schools, health care, the environment and infrastructure.

If you oppose current U.S. policies but you keep voting for people, such as Pappas, who will not help to change that course but simply vote for him because he has a D next to his name, then you can expect the same. The Who matters.
