The antidote to climate grief is climate hope, an emotional state that allows us to seek out knowledge and Earth friendly actions that are within our capacity.
Love Our Earth Day in Laconia on May 9 offers a family friendly way to investigate how Granite Staters are caring for the stateโs lakes, woodlands and fields in a festive and informative way. This multigenerational community event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lawn of the Congregational Church of Laconia, 18 Veteranโs Square. (Rain? see you in the Church Hall.)
Here are some reasons to come to Love Our Earth Day in Laconia: Join in the creation of an environmentally themed mural (all ages, all abilities), find out how watersheds sustain our lakesโ ecosystems, get a free well water testing kit & learn if radon is a problem and investigate how to create a bird-friendly & insect-friendly garden with native plants and free snacks courtesy of Laconia Kiwanis Club & Congregational Church.
For the younger set: Rock painting, Earth themed pages to color, a scavenger hunt activity to enjoy at home and furry items from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.
